The city is not a backdrop. Three nights among stalls and kitchens, then up to a Zapotec village that hosts walkers properly. Inês first came for a map and kept returning. Altitude is part of the plan, not a surprise.
February and November. We usually miss the thickest Day of the Dead crowds on purpose.
